Celiac friendly. Best minestrone in the hood. Good prices, great portions, and amazing service.
Traditional Sicilian dishes with great service. Changed over the years but still a North Beach tradition. Convenient location off of Columbus.
Caffe Sport has been around for years. Its decor is village festival inside giving it a cozy ambiance. Service is prompt, which is amazing considering how busy they get. Our food was Sicilian spicy pasta. So good and hearty. What a fun place to come on a beautiful afternoon in North Beach. Families and visitors everywhere! Delightful!
This restaurant is a little gem. The Sicilian decor, the service, and food were OUTSTANDING! I would definitely come again, whenever we're in town. Awesome restaurant!
Had to do another review this spot is so good! The rice balls are so good and came out really well. The vibes are great and recommend during happy hour for some oyster deals. Always a great spot for an entree, apps and drinks!
Why is everything in this place so tasty!! Friend suggested this place as she had been her with her guy for a valentines dinner. I can't believe I've lived in the Bay Area all this time and never been to Caffe Sport. It was a Friday night so I called around 6:30 and got us a table for 7:15. Took less than a minute to talk to the person and get a confirmation text. We got there a few mins after 7:15 and were seated after they got a table ready for us. The sauce they serve with their bread should be labeled addictive, it's just so good. We ordered the salad with strawberries, candied walnuts and cheese. Delish!!! For mains we got penne with pesto, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and spaghetti aglio olio with shrimp. And I SWEAR I haven't had pasta this good in a very long time. Each dish had its own unique flavor and I had a hard time deciding which of the dishes was better than the others. What a tasty problem to have. I loved that they set a jar each of pepper flakes and cheese on the table, so you can have as much cheese as you want. Also I got the house white wine which was a perfect Chardonnay. We didn't get any dessert but I'm sure it's probably really good here as well. Staff were quick and friendly, and the main guy was so jovial and nice to deal with. If you want to visit out an old timey place without traveling to a European country, then check out their restrooms. It's like stepping into a place in Rome. Such a vibe. Can't wait to go back and try everything !
Hands down one of THE BEST Italian joints I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying pappardelle pasta at. We came in to try something other than stinking rose which we frequent almost once a year (we are out of towners). We ordered a pitcher of mimosa, half a dozen oysters because there was a special (1.50 each), and pappardelle pasta. I could kiss the chef! The bread and sauce they brought out was amazing. The crispy crostini topped with Parmesan and red pepper was a perfect combo. The pasta , THE PASTA WAS FIRE! No meat and the sauce was out of this world. As for this amazing hole in the wall, it is located amongst other great restaurants, so I suggest having enough time in your day to try them all. The service here was friendly and very accommodating and is now added to the list of places I have to have when I'm out here.
GNO calls for some good company, yummy carbs, and good quality wine. Caffe Sport was perfect for all of it! I also will say, North Beach is SO LIVE at night. I can't believe I haven't went out here enough for a fun night out. Summary: Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 8/10 Parking: 0/10 (doesn't count towards the rating LOL just a heads up to consider) What I ordered: Pappardelle al Funghi - 10/10 La Marca - 10/10 FOOD: 10/10 The pasta was al dente and I loved how it was the perfect portion. The food was served piping hot and for someone who is OBSESSED with mushrooms, I was so excited that they had chunky pieces of mushrooms in the Pappardelle. The glass of La Marca Rose prosecco was a perfect pair with my pasta. I also loved the complimentary pieces of baguette with pink sauce that they serve. The bread was soft and the pink sauce (im assuming vodka sauce) was a perfect dip. SERVICE: 10/10 Service was great and the waiter was very funny. The staff were attentive enough but not TOO attentive, which I prefer haha. They clean up your table along the way and remove whatever is not necessary on the table, such as extra plates. AMBIANCE: 8/10 Personally, the ambiance was giving medieval times HAHA. There was a lot of tacky decor but I think it also fits the vibes of the restaurant. But, there was decent amount of seating. We needed an extra chair on the side of the table since ours was a booth and could not fit 5 people. PARKING: 0/10 For night life in North Beach? Do not bother trying to drive. My friend accidentally drove instead of taking uber and she paid a $30 garage ticket for all night parking and it was not even close to the restaurant. You really are better off taking uber or public transportation.
